Blast cds in the car, and listen to cds at home over a relatively nice stereo. Itunes and ipod also. I have a record player but tend not to use it too much because it's not very nice. But my favorite way to listen to music is through headphones in a dark room with nothing else going on. That's when you really get the full effect of music. No distractions whatsoever.

I like practicing "hi-fi abstinence". If I listen to most of my music in 256kbps AAC on my simple iMac speakers, then I'll enjoy the uncompressed stuff on my Sennheisser cans and Klipsch speakers so much more when I get the chance.

I, like many others on here, enjoy music the most when it's played on a vintage hi-fi system. I like my vinyl! I like to play my music at a higher volume, too. Not "loud"...just a smidge above the norm so that I can hear all of those little things that go unnoticed at lower volumes.

I also enjoy listening to CDs in the car...especially on long trips. I listen to CDs every morning on my commute to work. Every morning, I randomly choose a CD to listen to on the way to work.

Listening to music through a good set of headphones (none of that earbud crap) in a darkened room is also a favorite way to listen to music. This is especially good for albums with a lot of atmosphere or "headroom" as my friends and I call it.

I try to avoid music through MP3 players, phones, and computers. I dunno...there's just something very cold about music that's played through those sources.

At work, i use Koss PortaPro headphones -- they're pretty good for the price and come with a lifetime warranty. I'm a programmer-type so i can pretty much listen as i work most of the day.

At home i a pretty fine set of computer speakers with my PC. Don't remember the brand offhand. If i'm somewhere away from my office, then i bring i touch & portable speakers with.

I listen almost exclusively to MP3s. Once in a long while i'll put on a CD, usually if i pick up something on the release date and can't wait to hear it.

I usually record MP3s at HI-VBR minimum 192 kbps. i don't accept anything less than that.

I use my PC as it's the only player i have. When I'm out and cycling i use my phone and buds, as long as i can listen to my music I'm a happy bunny.

Happy to hear people enjoying their music ...by whatever means... Glad to see there are some out there with a vinyl fetish. By the way April 21 is Record Store day.. I'll be out at my local shop to pick up some exclusive releases..
