It's mad how fast time flies, I can still picture the day I joined on here and I'm pushing 13 years now, scary...

Congrats! I've stolen plenty off your charts down the years!

I recently turned 13 on the site as well. Can’t believe it’s been that long.

Got to know some great people and discovered some music that I would never have come across without BEA. Long May it continue

Yeah, essentially the Good Friday Agreement means that anyone from Northern Ireland can choose to be an Irish or British citizen, a lot of sports people would complete under the Irish flag as a result, other medalists have also been from the north aswell.

Happens loads in Irish sports, the only real segregation would be in soccer off the top of the head, where there's two separate leagues (even then Derry City would play in the League of Ireland despite being in Northern Ireland, similar story with players like James McClean and Shane Duffy for example, Derry would be an area with strong ties to the republic).

Sports like rugby and GAA would be cross border, with only one rugby team for the whole island. The border's really an antiquated thing at this point.

Been watching the sport climbing earlier today, think it's class, looking forward to seeing how the breaking works out also! Paris does seem to have embraced it fully, every event is swamped with French fans.

Irish TV is quite good for this actually, our main national free to view tv channel is doing about 12/13 hours a day, covering all Irish athletes and then major events and highlights in between, seen nearly every sport on it at this point, also seem to have found an Irish person to commentate on each one which is pretty cool.

TIL, thank you! I'm mainly thinking of soccer/football, where Ireland & Northern Ireland compete separately (e.g. in Euros/World Cup). Makes sense about cross-border for most sports and of course non-sports things also.

Hey all!

I'm not going to pretend to be a regular user again, but I've been getting back into music in a more serious way following a serious limerence/crush situation and am reminded of my younger self getting a lot of comfort not only out of that music, but out of this community. Bummed I've fallen out of touch with almost everyone, but I suppose that's life.

For a few updates, I live in Missouri now, and am a teacher at a local nonprofit. I've also started going by Amity, and probably should change the username here as a result - oops. I finally got my first tattoo, though it wasn't the logo on the left that I'd talked about. I've still thought about getting that on the nape of my neck - maybe someday I will. Tragically, my friend who started the nonprofit my avatar is from passed away suddenly earlier this year.

I've continued to make music, though Low Voltage is long dead. (Long live Low Voltage). My roommate and I are still living together 10 years on and make music as Shrug Noise, though we haven't released anything in nearly 8 years now. I'll be releasing something solo this year, and have been learning FLStudio and trying to take things a little more seriously.

I'm going to try to poke back in here when I think to - I gotta get my top albums lists up/updated, at the very least, after all.

I missed y'all, though I suppose really you can blame me for that Wink

Hey Amity! Sorry I missed this, but great to see you back on the forums. I'm impressed that you've had the same roommate for TEN TEARS as i couldn't even make my marriage last for 10 months! Laughing

Much love from St. Louis. (not too far from you, I suppose).

Interesting list noted over on Reddit where BEA was referenced for anyone curious.

Long live BEA, quite some time since I've been here.

Funny to take a look at the forums and the signatures, the "post a reply" page just brings me so many memories

Love you all. Good to know you all have been a part of my youth Mr. Green

Not a goodbye post lol, just got a little bit nostalgic
