I always find it strange when people think Too-Rye-Ay is the best Dexy's album. There was a guy on The Guardian website's comment section recently talking about how Too-Rye-Ay displayed a greater sense of maturity, with much better songwriting, and singing voice Rowland had grown into, and less of the offputting snottiness they'd displayed on the debut, as though Too-Rye-Ay is widely considered and generally regarded as being superior to their debut. It isn't better. It's just not.
Sorry about that. I quite like this chart. Apart from all the stuff I don't like, obviously. _________________ 2021 in full effect. Come drop me some recs. Y'all know what I like.

Good chart. Saying that, there are 25 albums that I haven't listened to and 80% of that are albums by The Beautiful South, The Bees, The Divine Comedy...Hmm...what's that telling me? Need to listen to The Beautiful South, The Bees, The Divine Comedy... _________________ "And can’t you see you’re in on it?

As an American, Come On Eileen was the only Dexy's song I heard for the first 20 something years of my life probably, and god was it a great song, so I can understand the sentimental nature of Too-Rye-Ay over their debut. I'm pretty on the fence about the two. But there's also that weird thing where my first crush in elementary school was named Eileen. _________________ http://jonnyleather.com
