The Grateful Dead truly shine as a live band, but that doesn't mean they can't make a killer studio album, and this is one of their best. A lot of live staples on this album.

I love this album. This, along with American Beauty are my favorite studio Dead albums. Favorite songs: Easy Wind, Uncle John's Band, Dire Wolf, Cumberland Blues, Black Peter, Casey Jones, New Speedway Boogie, High Time.

The Dead invade Laurel Canyon. And it was good.

I can never decide between this and its sister, American Beauty, for best studio Dead.
