Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album is rated in the top 4% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 76.6/100, a mean average of 75.6/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 76.7/100. The standard deviation for this album is 18.7.

There is so much quality and experimentation on display here that it is difficult to see how people cannot love this record. I fell in love right away with the first listen as the energy on the record completely overpowered me and I felt so engrossed in the music. That feeling of being part of a record is such a unique experience for an artist to create and they do it so well on here. The use of instrumentation really aids this with the crashing guitars and expressive drumming that is so powerful and just so brilliant. They also intelligently integrate several other instruments which fit in perfectly and only add to the layers we have to explore. This also makes it more progressive and engaging for the listener. Songs like The Deadly Rhythm and Liberation Frequency demonstrate their quality on shorter tracks but it is the longer ones that really blow me away. I can't get enough of track 1 and 11 with them both clocking in at over 7 minutes there is so much for us to be able to enjoy. They both build up beautifully and then give us some excellent pay offs that always leave me feeling satisfied. Also, they show just how creative they are on those songs as they really push the boundaries of the genre. Overall, this record is an explosion of passion, energy and pure punk excellence and I love every minute of it.

I confidently give this album a 100 because it gives you everything you need, as all the other commenters have attested very positively to particulary compared to the rest of the albums I've stumbled across in my musical journey. Look at all those 90 or above comments. The proof is in the pudding, folks. Justifiably in the low 700s as of yet. This site introduced me to this album and artist. I am a baby in the knowledge of this group. But one thing I do know is I loved this album. I had to take a break my first time listening to it. I had to sit down and take a breather. Especially, where the album gives you a spiritual experience by building up, taking its time at the climax. I didn't know what to think listening to this. I listened to it 1.5 times because I wasn't ready for that first listen. Well, truth is I was pre-occupied with something else, but still. Haha. I gave it another listen another time through. And I loved it so much I am blabbing on and on about this.

Solid post-hardcore/punk album!

The album title is amazing and takes all his sense when you listen to the 3rd song (Deadly Rhythm), which is in my opinion of the best post-something song of all-time.

This album fucking rocked me out the first time i listened, one of the most adrenalistic moments i have to live.

I don't know why, but after the 2nd listen lost the effect entirely.

However, this album is still a fucking masterpiece.

Expressive and interesting album with a lot of variation. Favorites are Deadly Rythm and Refused are fuckin dead. I think the album is getting (or maybe is already) quite legendary

There is no review I can write that will top the courtesyflush83 one.

Wonderful record; progressed hardcore to inspire a bunch of copycats (Showbread, Alexisonfire) and is a whole lot of fun.

Will take more listens to actually really like this, but from the second listen, I do like this. Not sure what I didn't like about the first listen, but now I'm all energetic and angry so it's a lot better. Plus, the screaming isn't detestable. It's actually rather enjoyable.
