I noticed that if you re-rate an album the original rating date is changed to the latest rate date. Personally, I'd prefer to keep the original rate date and just change the rating. What do you guys think?

Cheers,
Nick

Good question. ๐Ÿ˜„ By leaving the original rating date, it tells me when I first listened to that album.

This can be accomplished with the "Listened" list.

Here's an album on my chart I don't have on that list. But I can just click "Add to listened" to get it there.

And then if I click my username up top to get to my profile, and then click View Your Listened

then bam, there it is

so it doesn't exactly help you with the stuff you've already rated, but in the future I think this would be much better at accomplishing what you want.

That's right but it would still be quite hard to find out what date you actually listened to the album. You will have to sort the listened list by album name and then locate the album to determine the listen date.

One thing that could be interesting is having a history of ratings. Being able to view the changes in your rating of a specific album over time.

I thought of that but then I thought that it may be overkill to keep a history of all of your ratings - and how may would you keep? Possibly it can controlled through a setting in the user profile (whether to reset the rating date on a re-rate, whether to keep a history of ratings and so on) but then again this might be an overkill too.

Personally, I think it's correct to show the date that the rating was last updated not when it was first made. As Tap says, it's cross purposes to use the create date for something else instead. The listened list gets updated when you rate an album and would be better used for keeping track of when you first listened to an album (in your profile settings there's something labelled 'Add albums as listened when they are rated:' which helps you do this).

Cool. Didn't know about this option.

Thanks for all your inputs! ๐Ÿ˜„
