A number of classic Southern Rock groups derive a big chunk of their fame from one unusually long studio track. What's your fave?

In Memory Of Elizabeth Reed beats all of the above. As does Whipping Post and Dreams.

Great songs, but I didn't consider either of those (studio versions) to be of epic length. (both sub 7-minutes while the shortest of the others is over Cool

I would also add in one of the songs "Silent Scream" or "World of Difference" by Gov't Mule. A lot slower than the others, but still in the Southern Rock canon.

I picked Free Bird though.
