But the singers of Rage Against The Machine and Evanesence didn't die, so I don't know if they qualify.

Manzarek-Krieger formed long, long after Jim Morrison's death, but this is sort of a post-Doors project.

and to stretch it a bit further, after Andrew Wood died, Mother Love Bone became Temple of the Dog, which became Pearl Jam. granted, Gossard and Ament are the only consistent members through that transition.
