  • Quote
So I've been really into Shoegaze for the past few months now. I've listened to almost all the classics and the underlooked but essential (Galaxie 500, Cocteau Twins, Starflyer 59, Curve ect) classics. I feel like it's time to go deeper! Any recommendations of your own? I'm not looking for anything Doom/Blackgaze............that stuff sends me to PTSD I swear....anywho, yeah. New music *Kermit dance* YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYY

I'm no expert, but I've seen some shoegaze flowcharts floating around the internet that you might want to check out:

That flowchart is really great, just search best shoegaze albums on Google and you will get more flowcharts!

A recent favorite of mine is this :

This is one of my favourite more recent Shoegaze albums...for all the classics there's plenty of Shoegaze charts here on this site to check out.

All these... plus Chapterhouse's Whirlpool too.

Might be worth giving Ringo Deathstarr a listen if you like shoegaze crossed with J&MC.

Cellardoor's got a pretty solid shoegaze chart - well worth a look:

Flowcharts ftw. For newer stuff, I really like Asobi Seksu's Citrus (and other albums) and Candy Claws' Ceres Calypso.

Check out Pale Saints too if you haven't. It's older stuff that's borderline on the "classic" label, so people often miss out, but it's for sure one of the best.

I don't know if these records are shoegaze but if you want weird but very uplifting records give these records a chance.

Don't know if you've heard it yet, but this is perhaps the greatest example of the genre after My Bloody Valentine:
