Ok guys so Iโ€™m due to undergo a lengthy hospital admission soon and therefore will have plenty of time for music listening.

Therefore could you guys guide me in the right direction and do me favour? Do what you do best and throw me Recs!

Iโ€™m after material that I can get lost in and take me on a journey....

Maybe a sonic masterpiece similar to Lonerism, or a prog classic like Selling England by The Pound, or some amazingly atmospheric ambient piece similar to that of Enoโ€™s Discreet Music.

Hit me up.
Give me something my ears and mind can really get engaged in!!!! Iโ€™m genuinely excited in anticipation to see your responses.

Thanks BEA!

I would recommend diving into some Sigur Ros. I would start with their album รgรฆtis byrjun and if that insterests you try their other albums like ( ) or Takk...

If you like downtempo music I would recommend Emancipator's album 'Soon It Will Be Cold Enough'. Perfect for the winter season.

Also if you haven't listened to Beach House I can't recommend them enough. Bloom, Teen Dream, Depression Cherry, and Thank Your Lucky Stars are all wonderful. That last one in particular is very dreamy and atmospheric.

Completely echo the Sigur Ros recs - I remember being stuck in hospital for a week whacked out on morphine recovering from meningitis and listening to รgรฆtis Byrjun whilst thinking my bed was moving around the ward on a conveyor belt.

If ambient's your way to go certainly give some Stars Of The Lid a whirl, especially And Their Refinement of the Decline or Tired Sounds Of..., as well as Eno.

Wishing your stay is as brief and pain-free as possible.
