After the freer flowing and more melodic Sabbath, Bloody Sabbath, this one took a little getting used to. But once properly prepared to receive, it becomes apparent this is one of the Sabs more earth shattering records. It's dark, dystopian, and extra heavy. It's also not just the slow to medium Doom of early Sabbath or the more melodic faster metal of the more recent release, but rather the most bludgeoning of their riffs, but also sometimes at a faster pace, making it a sort of proto-thrash record. The Sabs reinvented metal once again. Lots to love here, both as a listening piece as well as a historical pivoting point in the evolution and expansion of heavy metal.

I've said it before and I'll say it again; Black Sabbath was dynamite through their first six albums. Sabotage was the last of them, and kicks ass like previous five.
