Hey BEA Community!
I joined some time ago and have come back here and there to explore but now I am seriously deep into this. The states "Stay At Home" orders from this terrible Pandemic have opened up some valuable time to rediscover my musical tastes while I have been working from home.
I am a long time music fanatic from Michigan with my tastes in the "Classic Rock" genre. I have collected many, many, MANY CD's in my life and I have explored so many songs, albums and artist in my time that I felt the urge to finally document it here on BEA and see where it stands.
Here is what I did; I have started a list of over 1,500 albums in order of release that includes the full discography of my favorite all time artists and great selections from other sources such as the Rolling Stone 500. My goal is to listen to them all, rate and rank them, selecting each through a Random Number Generator. So far I have discovered some amazing songs, albums and artists I have overlooked.
It has been very enjoyable to do the research on each album through AllMusic, Wikipedia, Discogs and other sites to get a real insight on the making of each.
Let me know what you think of my Charts as they continue to grow daily & Weekly.

That's quite a method for listening to music. Nice to meet you. I'm checking out your chart right now, and I have to admit, somehow you managed to make a Beatles album in the top ten a complete surprise. _________________ Do it yourself and let me play my music: https://www.besteveralbums.com/thechart.php?c=61802

I am no where near done so everything will be shifting around as I update. 100's of artists to go through. Randomly listening to "Number 5" by the Steve Miller Band. I never even heard of it, but I like his music and included his discography in my list.

I haven't heard a single Steve Miller album. I've got a few thousand out of the way but there's still a lot I have to get through, so it's one of those things I can be happy about never being done with. _________________ Do it yourself and let me play my music: https://www.besteveralbums.com/thechart.php?c=61802

In my opinion, randomly picking is the best way to force yourself to listen to something you may not be in the mood for or didn't even know existed. I have struggled through quite a few but found some real great tracks along the way and albums along the way.

When I randomly pick an album, I'll do it based on the year of release most of the time. I've been forcing myself through more 2020 albums occasionally. _________________ Do it yourself and let me play my music: https://www.besteveralbums.com/thechart.php?c=61802

Ok, I am listening to the very first RUSH album. This is awesome. Much more bluesy sounding than what their future sound has known to become.

Interesting take. Sometimes the novelty of something does make your mind pay attention more, etc.
Also Steve Miller Band is grossly underrated imo for their late 60s stuff. Sailor I think is my favorite album of theirs.
