What do you do when you just turned out one of the most iconic albums in hard rock/progressive rock/heavy metal history?
You grow and evolve, and turn out another progressive masterpiece with an entirely different sound and mood. This album, while may be not quite well known as a landmark as 2112, is every bit as much a landmark in music history, and moved the state of the art in sound, composition, and mood a quantum leap forward. While there was a minor hit in "Closer to the heart," the title cut, Cinderella Man, and especially the 11 minute epic masterpiece "Xanadu," are the real stars of the album. Among progressive rock/metal devotees, "Xanadu" has rightfully entered the pantheon of the rarest air of elite compositions.

I love the anthemic title track, as well as the acoustic intro. All around great album, one of my favorites by Rush.

when listening to Rush, i have always preferred to listen to the whole album vs individual cuts
with this album, Rush pushes the pedal to the metal and puts it into high gear.
everything they touched was incredible but, with this album, and the next 4 albums, they were spectacular.

Cinderella Man and Madrigal are both solid songs, but I've always been of the opinion that they bring the overall quality down a bit. That's why it's not in my top 5 Rush albums. _________________ Overall chart

Not at all. I'd go with:
1. Permanent Waves
2. Hemispheres
3. Moving Pictures
4. Signals
5. 2112
Grace Under Pressure could be top 5 too when I'm in the mood. _________________ Overall chart
