It's a fun album, but I would have loved if some of these songs were recorded by Nirvana if Cobain hadn't died. A follow up to In utero would have been incredible...

When I saw them live, some girl in the first row shouted "Go home" several times as an answer to Dave's question "Do you want us to play another song?" After bursting out laughing, they played For All The Cows. I thought it was a pretty funny interaction.

probably some of the finest examples of first wave post-grunge on this record

seeing FF 2-3 years ago play some of these songs was really fun

As of late, "I'll Stick Around" has become one of my favourite Foo Fighters songs.

Major fan-boy in my teens as a Nirvana fan before then.

Agree with the statement made by Cobain that he was excited to see other members of the band take lead songwriting roles/creativity (even if not credited solely as such, Dave came up with the guitar and drums of scentless apprentice if I listened to the cobain interview correctly).

Even if Wasting Light was a solid record, I haven't really been too excited about a Foo Fighters record since One by One came out, even if the maturity of In Your Honor I love.

First few albums are great.

Also a bit of bragging:
I went to the release party of one by one at the virgin records store off sunset and laurel canyon (I think its some lame ass gym now or something). Got a signed copy and free one by one single 7 inch (still 33 1/3) (pretty rad Danny Says B side - ramones cover)
I was in the times like these bridge music video as Nate Mendel's double (when they threw stuff off the bridge) and wore his clothes (kinda weird but true).
Had lunch with the band during the shoot.

Big deal to "play" Nate cuz the first two tracks off this record are some of the first bass lines I learned to play when I was like 14ish. Always been a fan of his bass playing.

This contains some good examples of both of the songs Dave Grohl has written.

Less snarkily, 'Big Me' is a very good pop song.
