So I don't know about you guys, but when I'm just havin' a really shitty day I find that nothing gets me up quite like tuning out the real world and listening to really great music, and I was curious to see what album or albums you guys find are most helpful when things just aren't goin' your way.

For me, this album is Soundgarden's Superunknown. I have this one at #2 on my chart right behind Queen's A Night at the Opera, but I find that ANATO, despite being my favorite album, just doesn't have the same healing powers that Superunknown does. It's hard to say why exactly, but I find that Superunknown's melodies are so powerful and its instrumentation is so thick that it's too easy to just lose yourself in it and forget whatever the hell's going on in the real world.

So how about you guys?

I know this is cliche, but when I'm feeling down, I often listen to Sgt. Peppers with mah mamma.

I also listen to Pinkerton a lot when I'm depressed, but I don't know if that one necessarily makes me feel better.

Also, Avril's Goodbye Lullaby Razz

Lately, when I need a pick me up, I listen to The Band Perry's self titled album. "Hip to my Heart" never fails to put a smile on my face. Very Happy

Also, Born to Run or just about any Beatles album usually does the trick.

I agree. Especially The Boy with the Arab Strap (though just for general listening I prefer If You're Feeling Sinister).
