Absolutely brilliant. Sometimes my favourite Beatles album. Sometimes my favourite album ever. Sometimes not. Just so incredibly fantastically fun album from the beggining to the end.
There are 3-4 weaker tracks (and Yellow Submarine isn't the worst one), but they are in fairness completely decent songs, they just don't live up to the impossible standard set by other songs. John and Paul at the very top of their games, and George slowly getting there. Usually you can say which member shines the most in an album, but with this one the choice between John's and Paul's songs is impossibly difficult.

Revolver was the second Beatles' album to imply a state of maturity and an elevated sense of sophistication in their music, which was until then pop simplicity. They were always very good, but this and Rubber Soul made them even better. They exhibited how serious the band was getting, as musicians and lyricists as well. Excellent music throughout. A perfect album. The guitar playing in "And Your Bird Can Sing" is some of the best in pop rock ever.

The omission of 3 songs in the American version of this album is a travesty.

This is the one from their golden era which I've never appreciated that much. Overplayed Eleanor Rigby, was never as big on Tomorrow Never Knows and I'm Only Sleeping as most people. It may be a blasphemy to some, but I think Revolver lacks highlights and, like every other Beatles album, has several fillers.

In my opinion, Revolver is The Beatles at their best. My favorite tracks include She Said She Said, Taxman, and Eleanor Rigby. But the whole album is perfect from start to finish
