That's right, a day after the 50th anniversary of the Beatles debut, and 2 days after the 25th anniversary of the Pixies' debut, we have this.
57 years ago today the first Rock and Roll album (arguably) was released upon the world. This was perhaps just as big of a revolution as what followed 7 years later with the Fab Four.
I personally really like this album. It's a very fun rock and roll record with definitely a little filler but also a lot of great hits and just classic R&R! . Much like the Beatles debut, this album has a definite energy that is hard to ignore!
Okay, thoughts? _________________ -Ryan

These threads are getting obnoxious (in my opinion), I'm not going to ask you to stop making them, I'm just saying.

I agree a little with Happymeal. I like the number 25, even more the number 50, but not the number 57. Anyway, I like Elvis, but have only listened to his debut once. _________________ "The Beatles, the greatest band known to mankind." - Bismah Mughal

I think it's a great idea, Mercury. If you guys don't like it, don't open the thread. Or maybe start one yourselves. (!) I find being overly critical of the new guy more obnoxious than someone trying to start up on topic conversations.

About as good as Please Please Me, though Elvis Presley is much worse than the Beatles IMO.

I'm beginning to prefer Elvis' debut over any Beatles' record, but probably like the Beatles more. Both don't even compare to the magic of Roy Orbison

I so understand your thought on this, Mr. Happymeal. Here's my thought, I see this as sort of just another album of the day type of thing. It won't be everyday, just on anniversaries of particularly important or classic albums, a these last 3 have been. I'm not trying to be annoying, it's just another topic that could be interesting.'possibly. To some. It gives is a chance to talk of great album releases on this date in the past. Not so bad, right?
I got that 57 is shit number. Fine. It's still arguably the first rock and roll album! It's kinda interesting, right? Like, slightly?
Have you had a chance to listento this album yet? _________________ -Ryan

Okay. And I do respect your opinion. Hmm... The uneven number is sorta lame. I think that can be better, I agree. But it's just such a classic classic incredibly influential debut. I feel it should be pointed out.
As far as even numbers, it's the 30th anniversary today of ZZ Top's break out hit album "Eliminator"! That's not as cool an album, buuuut and even number.
Are you thinking these should only be for good even numbers or aesthetically pleasing numbers like 10, 20, 25, 30, 40, 50 etc? Those are ALOT more rare especially if only taking really classic records. _________________ -Ryan

Thanks bro! I thought so too. I even made it a suggestion to albummaster. Well, do you dig this album? _________________ -Ryan

I mean, to be honest, I understand your sentiment towards this and all, and I'm fine with you even doing this, heck, everyday is fine. Don't take my post as harsh criticism towards this, because others obviously enjoy this. It's hard to explain why I'm annoyed by these threads, but people have demonstrated that they like this, so I recommend to keep up the good work because you're obviously doing something right. Just because I don't see why these are quality threads doesn't mean they aren't.
