I'm a little nervous posting this, but today my band releases their first LP which we entitled "Nowhere".
The whole album was recorded in the space of a week in a friend's spare bedroom.
Whilst the recording can sound a little muddy at times, we think the tunes are there and we were able to put across the message we wanted to show through our music.
So, as you guys have taught me so much about what great music is, I'd really appreciate if you told me what you thought; which songs stand out, which are a little more weak and why - all would be great.
Me alongside our lead vocalist are the primary song writers of the group and our songs are sort of cheesy, indie pop-rock.
The album is 43 minutes in total, and whilst I don't expect you to sit through all of it, it would mean alot to me if you listened to a song or two. The whole thing is available to stream for free from our Bandcamp page.

9. Open Up My Window
10. Leaking Oil
11. Staring At Clouds

13. Brightside

Thanks, and I really hope you enjoy it Smile

Another member shamelessly promoting his/her own music through forums, something I would never do! Shame on you

Just kiddin. Cover art is very appealing for me for a start. Will listen tomorrow; hope it's great.

I thought that. But this is The Runways, not The Runaways

Yeah, we found out about that a while after naming ourselves. It's a shame they're so similar, but we've gone a bit too far with our name to change it now.

Fair enough, I wouldn't say it's a major issue. Anyway, I listened to the first four songs but it's honestly just not my thing. I think what I liked most about it was actually the recording quality. I'd like to say more, but it just isn't for me and I feel that since I'm not really your band's target audience then it'd be disingenuous to offer any praise/criticism. Anyway, good luck in your endeavors, I'm sure you'll find people here that it appeals to. Do you play live much?

Thanks, it's no problem it's not your sort of thing, I appreciate it Smile

We've started playing live a lot more than we used to, and just the other night we got a small gig at a pub that was only us playing, not being part of a larger gig, and it actually went down really well.

Technically bass, but that's more of a thing to do live - I've never been very good. Otherwise it's keyboards as well as backing vocals (lead in some songs).
