Oasis - The Importance of Being Idle

Should have been shorter:
R.E.M. - Drive

There are some songs like The Importance Of Being Idle which I feel is missing a verse and Drive which goes on for too long.

Haven't heard that first song, but I like Drive just how it is.

Wrong.

The 20/20 Experience would be much better if it was shorter (20-30 minutes could probably be cut)
Second Coming would be much better if it was shorter (15-20 minutes could be taken off)
Perfect From Now On would be better if it was shorter (about 10 minutes could be taken off)

Edit: There are too many songs that could benefit with being shortened,so I decided to name albums,ya bish

Another example is The New Pollution by Beck. The brass instrument at the end goes on forever. I reckon Beck could have found a better way to end the song.

No way, 20/20 Experience is just fine as it is. The lengths of the songs give them time to develop and change and breathe a little. Love that those tracks are long. I think that was sort of the whole point.

If we're gonna say albums need to be songs need to be shorter, well, I'd only agree on long overdrawn "jams" by bands like Allman Brothers, etc.

Making jam bands' songs shorter... wouldn't that just be defeating the purpose of what they do, which is, umm, jamming?
