I'm probably going to take some heat for this, but the ending of this album is probably the biggest musical boner-kill I've experienced since Physical Graffiti. The first 8 tracks are virtually spotless (there are a few weaker moments, but in general it's pretty damn good), and then it concludes with "He's Misstra Know It All", which is by leaps and bounds the worst Stevie Wonder song I've heard. It's literally bad enough to ruin an otherwise brilliant album for me.

I still appreciate it for its high points, though, in particular "Visions", "Living for the City", and "Higher Ground".

Have a listen to the reworked version of Signed, Sealed, Delivered I'm Yours he recorded with Blue (UK boy band). You may see it differently!

Anyways, been listening to Songs In The Key Of Life a lot lately, fantastic album, really need to relisten to this so I can compare the 2 again.

Really amazing album! Pretty incredible songwriting and singing and all around musicianship. The closer, Misstra Know It All, I don't feel is bad at all. I actually rather like how happy and poppy and sunny it feels!

"Living For The City" is a total standout. And "All In Love is Fair" features one of the most purely soulful and emotional vocals ever recorded! Just stellar.

Yeah, I wouldn't say it is a totally even and flawless album, but for the most part it's pretty amazing.

9/10

"Songs In the key Of life" is one of my all time favorites, in my top 25, and I feel it is better than "Innervisions".

I'm surprised you feel that way, I love that song.

This is the perfect example of the perfect album.
