When did album of the day become the album's forum regulars circle-jerk to?
To be honest, I enjoy this album a lot, but I don't see why its one of the best of all-time. I need to give it another listen some time.

Somewhat what Dingerbell said.
At the same time, I adore this record. Each song is good, but when they hit their stride, HOT DAMN!!! "Shadowplay" might be my single favorite guitar riff of all time.

Because album of the day signifies the album that gains the most points in the last 24h. An album can't be album of the day for another 6 months. Since the past three are really popular, they have most probably gained the most points recently, and have only just reached their 6 month allowance. Hope that helped.
Anyway, love love love it. I shall join the circle-jerk. _________________

Is albummaster secretly planning a show that documents our love for the BEA elite five and has been green-lit? Or maybe it's just a coincidence. But this album is awesome anyway. _________________

It looks like a few days back albummaster sorta reset this function of the site so it is starting to give super highly rated albums again. I mean the last 3 of VU& Nico, Loveless and Unknown Pleasures are all top 5 or 10 albums to the general BeA Regulars community (actually the top 2 are represented per the recent top 100 HTTs did). And The Bends before that was more hit or miss with the regulars but super highly ranked here overall. I personally don't have any of these albums on my chart. I only think one is truly great, and Unknown Pleasures ain't it. I'm not a big JD as of this moment. Unknown Pleasures is pretty good though. _________________ -Ryan

Okay, I didn't see this. Very nice explanation that I should have just figured out for myself instead of spewing a bunch of bull shit.
Oh and "She's Lost Control" is a GREAT song. _________________ -Ryan

I'm pretty sure that when I joined, albums by The Antlers, Eels, Cat Stevens, etc, were nominated. That means the time an album had to wait to be nominated again was more than 6 months then. Well maybe not, but it was more interesting, and I think there is enough well-known albums on the site to extend it to a few years without even reaching the semi-obscurities. I have no words to describe how much I love Unknown Pleasures, Loveless or VU&N all in my top 25 I think, and yes I'm an average-as-hell BEAer), but we don't need them at the forefront every 6 months, I think. What do you and AM think about that? Has it been discussed before?
