I'll give it a shot if I slip back there. Usually I just throw myself back into a marathon of For Emma Forever Ago, Unknown Pleasures, Closer, Best of the Smiths, then back to For Emma and so on ... if I remember I might give this a shot then, though.
I don't know, though, I don't get the raw emotion off this that I got off of those albums. It just feels lacking. _________________

"I wish that idve know in that first min we met, the unpayable debt that id owe you....."
I love this album!
I first heard "kettering" at a friends apartment and stole it from his itunes. I must have listened to that song 100 times in the following year (much of it spent with out internet). Finally, when I was back, and able to access music through the web, I listened to the album. I realized then, that for the past year I had had no idea what I was listening to. That, without context, the song is great, but in no way as moving and heartbreaking as the album is as a whole.
Obviously, this album can speak depths to anyone who has lost someone close, to a terminal illness, but in no way is that the limit of what this album represents. Themes of human struggle (both external and internal) are something that anyone can relate to, and the haunting vocals and instrumentation, so perfectly, personify that.
I cant think of any other album, so terribly depressing, yet makes me so happy. I wish I could explain it.
A couple months ago I got it on vinyl (my 10th record ever) and it has probably seen the most spins so far.

I've tried it twice. The album was bland the first time, and the second time was only a little better. Not much for me. Then again, it's a Frogger album and he and I share very different tastes.

Anything with that kind of style is a "Frogger" album to me. Basically, almost anything on your chart. Not to be offensive in anyway.

I hope to be a Frogger album someday.

Just so you know, there are some albums that I too immediately relate to frogger, same reasons as JMan. Great albums
Hospice is a very powerful album, strong feelings with the perfect melodies to follow! Thanks AotD for reminding me

The fact that it's apparently an analogy for an abusive relationship makes it a bit less powerful for me.
