Eno's a God. It's that simple. Even if he had never done anything beyond his Art Pop stage, I would revere him. Here Come The Warm Jets, this and Another Green World are all essential masterpieces, and nothing else before or since sounds like them. I'm in the small but vocal camp that only wishes he'd continue to crank out pop like this (with the condition that he would still make his ambient records, of course.)
Nico's The End is epic, Art Rock of grand proportions. Stark, glacial and harrowing. The closer gives me the creeps despite the fact its 2014 which I can only imagine was Nico's intent . Nationalism can be a scary force. And Nico's working with a dream team of art rockers as Mecca mentioned. Not until Nick Cave's Bad Seeds would we get such an dream team of art rockers together again to paint such black art.
Both these albums are stunning. But, I think Taking Tiger Mountain is more cohesive and satisfying from beginning to end. Not a dull moment and quite varied terrain (especially his detour into blistering rock on Third Uncle!)
Taking Tiger Mountain
Looks like someone has a serious case of the Scaruffies! LOL

How the hell does Scaruffi justify a 6/10 for Warm Jets and 8/10 for Taking Tiger Mountain. It's not like the albums are really all that different. Goddamn you Scaruffi. Where's Hairy when you need him? _________________ http://jonnyleather.com

Voted for Taking Tiger Mountain (by Strategy). Could not get into The End. Possibly this glorious, sunny, summer day had something to do with it... _________________ "And can’t you see you’re in on it?

Another Green World and The Mardle Index are the best. I have spent less time with both of these albums.

'cos he's a tit. I see his minion Hairymarx (once of these shores) has been absent recently. Must be very disorientating with all this hippity-hoppity nonsense being banded about.
Back on topic - both these albums are guff. I'm going to bed now. _________________ 'Reggae' & t'ing

I didn't realise Nico released an album about a darts player...

to those outside of the UK/perhaps Holland, this won't mean anything to you in the slightest. Sorry for wasting your time and hurting your eyes with that Godawful pic of a fat guy in a loud shirt. Normal service will be resumed once the italics end. Which is now. _________________ 'Reggae' & t'ing
