digital music is a post-scarcity, instant gratification economy where i can expand my tastes at any speed i want. plug in a bit of audio equipment (small portable amp and nice headphones) and an external to my laptop, and the world is my oyster.

I purchase all my music physically, so I have a lot of CD's and a crate's worth of Vinyl, but I keep them in my bedroom, which is my preferred way to hear music. Outside of my room I use headphones and my phone, or aux cable and phone in the car. If I want to hear something new I'll stream it somewhere, but I mostly spend my time with what I own.

Most of my CD music I import music from library copies and then burn them to a blank cd...I'm a crook I know. Rolling Eyes If I'm going to be honest, I have way more Cds than vinyl. I have around 100 records and around 250+ cds. Boo hiss.

I tend to:

- stream purely on a sample basis only (in fact I've just cancelled my Spotify subscription as I wasn't really using it)
- 'acquire' the music I like the sound of digitally to 'road test it' whilst driving around (i.e. listen in my car whilst working)
- if I like it enough, buy it on vinyl

Therefore, I'll listen to MP3s in the car and whilst trying to get off to sleep, and vinyl when I'm in my home office/study/call it what you will.

I very rarely listen to CDs despite having a half-decent deck, in fact I've got hundreds just sitting around gathering dust. I'd probably sell all but about 250 of them if I thought they'd fetch a fair price, but not even passing plebs at car boot sales seem interested. Having said that, reggae sells particularly well...

MP3 Player, at work only though. It's an investment yes but it turns a lot of dead time into album listening opportunities.

Absolutely this.

Altough I buy a cd from time to time: just my real favourites.
