oh, well hello dahlings, I guess this is my log from all the nightly escapades... in music listening. Now I know at this hour we're all tired and horny so Im going to keep everything short, sweet and consice, like my... cooking, and hope we have a fun, sexy time all around while getting just a little bit more... comfortable.

So yeah basically Im going back through the 2010s and now doing 2011, so Im just going to try and glean recs from anywhere and anyhoo so if any of you lovely snookums have some hidden gems plz share 'tis starving.

Anyways what did I just listen to again:

I Am Very Far by Okkervil River

Like all their records, really uneven in tone, but it's highs definitely soar as it seems to go from a stadium-thumping style to their more usually intimate singer/songwriter cracked-heart style

Matt Christensen- The Cradle in the Bowery

Quite good, dreamy and a bit unnerving though with a rather classical songwriting style

The Haxan Cloak by The Haxan Cloak

Very tasty, not quite as brilliantly tense as their follow up but eye(ear)-opening nonetheless

aight what did I listen to tonight

a couple ambient-ish albums

Ursviken by Varg

Excellent record for Varg, somewhere between quietly unsettling and slowly mind-sawing. Pitch Paper & Foil was quite good if nothing that instantly caught the ear.

Thank Your Lucky Stars by Beach House

Not quite as weightless as Depression Cherry, solid songs but feels like what a decent Beach House-worshipping indie band would make instead of a leap forward for Beach House themselves. Little remarkable, but a solid listen nonetheless even if they seem to be in a bit of an artistic rut.

Nashville Obsolete by Dave Rawlings Machine

One of the best of the year's country more traditional records, though with a more subtly innovative touch than most of it's kind. Shaping up to be a really strong year for country all around.

Turn On The Bright Lights by Interpol

Not going to lie, I watched some pornography tonight

and then topping it off with this album I actually paid money for, this promising unknown songwriter

Divers by Joanna Newsom

What the fook did I listen to last night

Traveller by Chris Stapleton

Saw it on the American Songwriters list, silly pilly for being #1 but still a very strong country record. Traditional, but had a looser, blusier finale that elevated it into lots-a-promise for next time.

More Than Any Other Day by Ought

Sun Coming Down by Ought

Re-listened to their last year's outing and now their new one. I like it, even if occasionally they seem to hold on to their many influences (namely Wire, Gang of Four) like a crutch. Still very good and gets better as they go along.

Slow Gum by Fraser A. Gorman

This was cool
