I gave it a couple listens, but didn't come back to it.

Not bad, just not that interesting.

I actually really enjoyed this album. Yeah, Take Me Out is the only popular song on the album, but other good songs are Jacqueline, Auf Achse, 40', and Tell Her Tonight. It's basically a very danceable post-punk-revival album.

I've always had pretty lukewarm feelings about this record. I think it's a quality collection of well executed pop songs but always felt it lacked something emotional.

Yeah, they're probably too smart and remote for their own good. I do, however, like this album and can only recognise the savoir-faire behind this collection, even if you feel you're listening to post-business school cheekiness (complete with visuals, business plan, respect for the elders etc.) rather than a band risking their lives. Solid craftsmanship, all in all. My favourite track is "Jacqueline".

"Take Me Out" is awesome. The rest of the album is pretty good too, especially "dark of the matinee" and "darts of pleasure".
