About album of the day: The BestEverAlbums.com album of the day is the album appearing most prominently in member charts in the previous 24 hours. If an album, or artist, has previously been selected within a x day period, the next highest album is picked instead (and so on) to ensure a bit of variety. A full history of album of the day can be viewed here.
It's an essential listen. It sounds like a dark Leonard Cohen with a folkier background.
Highlight: The Songwriting
Production: Unique, especially for a "country" album, but still dated.
Distinction: One of the first country albums I can recall that focuses on the songs of the writer, and not on making rollicking hits. The songs here are a force to be reckoned with, and is one of the first albums released that falls into the songwriter-focused "progressive country" genre, though it could just as easily sit prominently in a folk songwriter collection.
