Both albums are great, but I've rated Last Resort 85/100 and Zauberberg 90/100
And I actually prefer Trentemoller's bonus CD with the vocal tracks than the actual Last Resort album.
I'll stick to the expansive pulsating ambient Gas tracks. _________________ I'll be your plastic toy.

I definitely appreciate Zauberberg more for it's ambient elements than it's 'house' elements... what would you even call it? Soft house?
On the other side, I've never listened to The Last Resort. Will get on that sometime this week before I vote. _________________ Submit Your List for BEA's 2023 Film Poll!

Thought this was going to be a straight forward last resort vote for me as I'm quite familiar with it and a fan. Only heard half of the Gas one but so far it's very impressive. Something maybe you have to be in the mood for to fully appreciate. Going to try and get time to hear both in full but either way both excellent choices. Shame lots of these albums don't feature on spotify.

First time listening to both. My vote goes to The Last Resort, and that's going to be the new discovery to beat for this tourney. Bloody excellent.

this is one I can actually vote on right now. I like that Gas record quite a bit, but gotta go with the beautiful minimalist techno of Trentemoller, even if obv I slightly prefer the ineligible The Trentemoller Chronicles

Trentemøller as well for me on this one (just seems a bit more going on).

that Trentemøller album is one of the handful I haven't heard yet. According to my download queue I'm 2 minutes from being able to remedy that. Zauberberg is my favorite Gas album though so it's definitely going to have to be pretty stellar to compete. Let's see how this goes...

Both are fantastic albums in their own way, I'd say that Gas is a little more innovative, using the basic channel template but with a more organic approach to dub techno, with the artwork giving a good indication of the mood of the album. That being said, Trentemøller's debut album is one of the best examples of IDM/house and for sheer bleepy enjoyment, my vote definitely goes to the Danish guy on this occasion.
