Has a vibe that very few albums have, let alone another Dylan album. I like it a lot, it's not my favorite Dylan record, but it's not at all a taxing listen. Flows quite well. _________________ Attention all planets of the solar federation: We have assumed control.
This is a strange one and a tough one to rate. Obviously the lyricism is of the highest quality and while the songs themselves sound good when you go through the whole album it gets kinda boring since the songs sound the same. It has a much darker atmosphere than most Dylan albums.
When you compare it to Freewheeling it has less stinkers but doesn't have those mindblowing songs the former has.
Also I'd like to say that while the policital songs are the central parts of the album, I feel the two love songs incredibly underrated and among the best ones on the album. I'm talking about One To Many Mornings and Boots Of Spanish Leather. _________________ All time
