My City Of Ruins is a pretty great closer. It's no Jungleland but I appreciate 2002 Bruce maintaining relevancy both musically and lyrically with that track. _________________ Attention all planets of the solar federation: We have assumed control.
This is considered the best latter day Springsteen album for a good reason. Some of his best songs in years are found here.
Although it is a bit too long so it would benefit from cutting some filler. Also if Land Of Hope And Dreams was here (and it was written before this album came out) it would make it even closer to Springsteen classics of the 70's and 80's.
In the end this is probaly his best album outside of 1975-1987 period (I rate it on par with Tunnel Of Love) _________________ All time
Don't sleep on the opening track, either. My band played this live for a number of years. I liked it more every time we played it. A great entry in the church of Bruce.
