Give it 5 years and RSD will be dead, if it isn’t on its last legs already.

I'm not entirely sure about that. Perhaps in the UK? RSD is huge in Toronto, I've been there for it twice and they go all out.

I love seeing vinyl sales getting a daily spike, and it's great to have a community event for record buyers/shops, but it's not my cup of tea. Usually too squishy, too overpriced, too 'Black Friday'-esque. Sometimes shops will have 15-20% off store-wide, which is cool though.

Anywho, didn't participate this year. Been chilling in Bangkok the past while and they don't have it here... or too many music shops for that matter Anxious

What's the pressing like?

Yes indeed. For a few years I drove up to Toronto because it was worth the drive just because of the unbelievable amount of record stores in Toronto compared to here. Where I live there's only three or four record stores left, so Record Store Day isn't shit here. Toronto's a different story.

Did what any sane person would do and waited until after the event to pick up the only two things that really appealed. Strangely enough did exactly the same last year and got loads for dirt cheap - including that original first mix of Heart Of The Congos that goes for £100+ now.

Anyway, snagged:

Death And The Lady by Michael Raven & Joan Mills

Top 10 UK trad folk LP - well worth a listen if you haven't heard it and you have a thing for minstrels (not the chocolates). Full Jimmy-style write-up here if you fancy a squizz.

Which is absolutely fucking amazing, as you'd expect from Studio One/Soul Jazz. Gutted for those who shelled out £50+ each on the original dub plates, mind.
