Kind of an uneven album for me. But the good stuff is amazing and there is more of it than the rambling along stuff. Like a Rolling Stone is as good as rock music gets.

albummaster has chosen some of their highest ranked albums as aotd lately. Out of all'a them, this is a favorite. Bob Dylan is one of my biggest idols, and a colossal music-legend. Not on the level of BIABH, BOB, or BOTT, but still a solid full-length, that still is being enjoyed today.

I agree that it's uneven but still a classic album. I prefer Blonde on Blonde or Blood On The Tracks like my friend above. It may not be number one Bob album on BEA if it didn't have Like A Rolling Stone on it.
I s'pose the same could be said for BOTT with Tangled Up In Blue. I wish the album Time Out Of Mind had a higher rating. I love that one. And I always play his Christmas album this time of year. Must Be Santa is one of the coolest Christmas songs.

I look at the track list and wonder what people are meaning by "uneven". This album is badass great. _________________ May we all get to heaven

Agreed. It only has 2 slightly weaker tracks, the title track and From A Buick 6. Other than that everything is rock solid.
When I started listelning to Dylan, I used to prefer BotT and BoB, but after some time has passed I consider this to be his best work. Desolation Row might be his best lyrically, and that's saying something. _________________ All time

Yeah, don't get me wrong on this one fellas: the album remains a really good listen from start to finish with several classics on there.
But id add Tombstone Blues to Daydreamers list of weaker tracks, giving us three pretty straight forward blues rockers on the album. Ballad of a thin man is certainly an odd one too. I know a lot of people find this one of Dylan's most iconic tracks but I find it just too ungainly (both melodically and lyrically).
I still think it's a really good album though, just doesn't have one great song after the next like Blond on Blond.

Interesting, Ballad of a Thin Man and Tombstone Blues are easily mu 3rd and 4th favourite tracks from the album. _________________ All time
