Tool has finally bit the bullet and put their back catalog online. You can stream their full-lengths on all major streaming platforms starting today.

https://open.spotify.com/artist/2yEwvVS...D5rPsUYplg
https://music.apple.com/us/artist/tool/140870416

Thoughts..? Are any fans out there disappointed that they gave in? Or were we all eagerly awaiting this moment?

My collection outstrips what they uploaded for streaming, so no help to me. I’m sure others will enjoy it though.

Most of my music listening is via Spotify these days and have been blasting out 10,000 Days while I do some work so I can get behind this.

I thought I listened to Aenima on Spotify, but it must've been YouTube.

They uploaded their new album Fear Inoculum as a pre-release yesterday, with the title track available to stream. Apple Music has it listed as track 1, with 9 other unnamed tracks, two of which I’ll assume to be “Invincible” and “Descending”.

I think I enjoy the title track more than the two from a few months ago, and probably a bit more than anything from 10,000 Days. But, these three new songs are all fairly similar to each other, and I feel they overly rely on Carey’s drumming. I think the drumming loses its impact when it’s constantly busy, unlike say, 46 & 2, where he carries the tempo unassumingly and then rips your face off.

The CD is also now available for pre-order in a $45 limited edition form, complete with a rechargeable HD screen, speaker, and some other nonsense. I’m not sure that I want to have to worry about maintaining the battery inside a CD package, and no word on the non-limited edition.
