Tool's importance and influence far surpasses the credit they are given for shaping the modern prog-rock-metal world. They are rarely treated with the seriousness they deserve. Sure they are popular and well-liked by most critics, yet Tool is rarely mentioned alongside bands like Nirvana and Radiohead as a band that truly helped change the path of rock music in the 90s. Hopefully the future will be kinder to them.

Every Tool member is at the top of their game. Innovative music, not a single bad record and some of the most memorable basslines and riffs and even skillful drumming you will ever hear and of course, Maynard's lyrics which can be as introspective as you can possibly get and sometimes he can troll the hell out of anything with his twisted sense of humor. Tool is the perfect balance between being able to play thoughtful, interesting music and still being entertaining as hell. Tool is one of the greatest bands ever.

All of the pointless arguments over this band. If you like them, like them. If you don't like them, don't listen to them and listen to something you like more. Please just stop hurling insults at each other.
One of the all time greatest bands ever. I love everything they've done and i'm listening to the new album now after that 13 year wait. (Edited)
Good band, and they're excellent on a technical level, but something about them doesn't totally click with me.
