Highlights are Sign o' the Times, Starfish and Coffee, U Got The Look and The Cross.

A classic. One of the great albums of all time by any artist. Prince showed a range in this album that most artists don't show in a career. 16 songs that are each entirely unique and so wholly their own style that any could have been written and performed by a different artist. So realizing that Prince composed and performed every sound of every instrument on this album (except for the live performance of "Beautiful Night" and a few guest appearances by Sheila E.), one can't help but sit back in utter astonishment at his mastery.
The entire album is brilliant but highlights include "Sign 'o' the Times," "Housequake," "The Ballad of Dorothy Parker," "Starfish and Coffee", "If I was your girlfriend," "I could never take the place of your man," and "Adore".

One of my favourite albums from the '80s and contains lots of great tracks, my personal fav is probably The Ballad of Dorothy Parker, but at least six other tracks are contenders as well. I find this much more of an interesting listen than Purple Rain and 1999 (although played those to death back in the day as well), not forgetting his other albums, particularly Around the World in a Day. Prince wasn't just a great song writer, he was also an amazing musician.

He was so ahead of the curve, redefining what mainstreampop could be. this is one of his bestalbums.
