Three great songs (1,9,11) but the rest is pretty forgettable and I find them far too self-serious at this point. The low point for me is the overwrought Kathy's song.

Bookends was an improvement and Bridge over Troubled Water is really great. I also think Simon's solo career is excellent. He's one of the best songwriters of all time, but I think it took him a while to really find his voice.

Oops. I was confusing Kathy's Song with a different one from the previous album (For Emily, Wherever I may find her -awful title) Kathy's song is okay I suppose but I guess not so memorable for me at least!
