"I thought, ‘Why me? Why did I get spared?’ I should’ve been dead. I have the scars. I’ve stuck my head in the lion’s mouth. Obviously, God saved me for a purpose. So, I decided to get clean and then come clean. I’m hoping I can reach that one person.”

He knew.

[On drug use]“I was playing with fire. It was just a matter of time before I got caught and my business ended up on the cover of a tabloid or I went to jail or, worse, I ended up dead.”

^ And that one's just heartbreaking.

Yeah, that is really is sad to hear. The Wire remains the benchmark for peak era tv. Michael K. Williams was one of the obvious standout performances and Omar one of most intriguing aspects of the whole show. Barack Obama even said that Omar was his favourite character in the show (with good reason).

RIP

Saw some of her stuff floating around the other day, and I thought it was just nice to see. Missed the news. RIP.

Sad news about Nesmith. Lowkey a major innovator and force in the development of Country Rock.

Going to have to listen to this and this today and maybe others today to remember him. Musically, at least.

Magnetic South by Michael Nesmith &...ional Band

Nevada Fighter by Michael Nesmith &...ional Band

Oh and this is great too… really he had a run or albums in the early early 70s that were damn solid to great.

Loose Salute by Michael Nesmith & T...ional Band
