A cool concept album focusing on the early days of Elton John and his co-writer Bernie Taupin. Its a solid album and probably one of the last from John's initial peak in the early to mid 70s. Although the songs don't really stand alone that well on their own with the exception of a couple. Someone Saved My Life Tonight is the obvious standout single, based on a suicide attempt by Elton John in the early days of his career.

Listened to it today after a long time, and it's quite a bit better than I remembered. Full of great melodies, even though I don't care for most of the lyrics.

Aside from Someone Saved My Life Tonight, the closing track is also a highlight, esp the first part We All Fall In Love Sometimes. There's a wonderful Jeff Buckley cover of that song for everyone who likes it I recommend you check it out.
