The thing I don't like about this album is that if it gets dirty, you have to buy this special moon-shaped pool cleaner.
This one's from Amazon.com, though you can also get them at Wal-Mart. It's actually a special "vacuum head," and you'd think there would be a built-in radio too because it's associated with Radiohead, but noooooooo. No soap included either, along with no radio. The whole thing just seems like a ripoff to me, even though the vacuum head actually costs less than the album (assuming you buy the album on vinyl, that is — otherwise you don't really need the special cleaning device in the first place, though you might still want it if you're a "completist"). The only real bonus here is that this device can also be used to clean your swimming pool, which is important because nobody likes dirty pool, and you wouldn't want your pool to end up looking like this.

Admittedly, although I still re-listen to their earlier work, this one is the Radiohead album where my obsession with them kind of ended. It's not bad at all, but something about it never totally clicked for me. I will revisit it at some point.

top to bottom, i think every tune is terrific, and there's a cohesive tenacity to the record, but i find it almost too emotionally taxing to listen to. this is notably true for true love waits, but daydreaming and desert island disk take their toll as well. i tend to listen to parts of this album at a time rather than toil through the entire thing. still a great album though. _________________ follow me on the bandcamp.
