Charts are only selected if they have a minimum average rating of 75 out of 100 from at least 10 votes, and must have been updated in the last 180 days. In addition, a chart must allow member feedback for it to be eligible to be selected. A full history of chart of the day can be viewed here.
This was sufficiently unusual a Chart of the Day — even taking into account it being a custom chart — that I felt I had to look.
Whilst a lot of it is certainly interesting, there are some choices that could and I feel should be “filtered out” if they are of a popular artist (especially a compilation like the Beatles’ 1967-70) or even perhaps works by a really famous classical composer like Beethoven that might have other recordings also on Best Ever Albums.
