This record still blows me away, especially as it was one of the first pieces of the jazz world I took in a number of years ago.
Earlier this year I listened through Herbie’s first 15 or so albums which made for an excellent few days of listening and I was able to check a few records off in the process. Head Hunters is right there at the top of Herbie’s output, and he has a ton of high quality material.
Head Hunters is futuristic and fun and dynamic and memorable, love it a ton. Herbie should get more credit for his phenomenal catalog and not just as a musical genius/technician. _________________ Attention all planets of the solar federation: We have assumed control.
