Definitely Cross Paths. I found it by far more refreshing and chart-worthy... _________________ "And can’t you see you’re in on it?

Poe had both of these on his chart.
Well, you know which I voted for.

I was always going to vote for Cross Paths if the truth be told, but I took the time to have a listen to Shadow Kingdom as I'd never heard it before. And listening to it was the sonic equivalent of shopping in a charity shop/thrift store - there's some great stuff, but mostly obscured by things that smell of mothballs.

The Motifs are delightful. I enjoyed their mellow harmonies, like the Indigo Girls only more relaxed.
Shadow Kingdom. I did listen to it all the way through this time, all four hours of it. The time for the album says 2:39:33, but that can't possibly be right. But I should probably say something nice... Um..... It was better than Stars of the Lid.
Vote to the Motifs.

After a few cursory listens to both of these albums, even though I enjoyed both, neither blows me away and both seem inconsistent.
I really have no idea which one of these will gel with me over the next couple of days so this should be a fun matchup for me.

I positively adored both of these, but I think I'm going to go with Shadow Kingdom. It just carries more significance for me, I guess.

Not even close for me, and I really like Cross Paths. Shadow Kingdom is like a devastatingly, gorgeous femme-fatale to Cross Paths girl-next-door super cutie. Cross Paths does reach some Belle & Sebastian level of of twee pop awesomeness at times, but it cannot sustain that level throughout an entire album. I kind of feel that Natural Snow Buildings could pull off whatever they wanted and just don't give a fuck. Insanely hypnotic and one of the few bands that actually warrants comparison to GSYBE at times.
Shadow Kingdom.
