OK, I'll just copy it then
(As I said, the user is "loveisnoise")
"MYLO XYLOTO in case you didn't know already, is a compilation album put out by EMI featuring artists which are oh so hot right now.
After a short bit of intro music, it opens with a track from The Postal Service named "Hurts Like Heaven". I'll admit I haven't actually bothered to check out this project of Ben Gibbard's yet, but this song is actually really good. If this song is any indication, perhaps The Postal Service is a band worth checking out.
Next is a Timbaland produced track named "Paradise" which kinda sucks. I'm not sure who the artist is (OneRepublic maybe?) Frankly I don't care, all these Top 40 artists sound the same to me.
There's a Fleet Foxes song called "Us Against The World" which is nice enough, but fairly boring. It's far from the best thing they've ever done, but is a highlight on this compilation CD.
Sadly there's a lot of chart fodder on here. I was a bit disappointed to see that Bob Sinclar song I hate so much was included. I'll admit the song has grown on me a little bit since I first heard it, but the "Wa-Wa-Wa-Wa-Waterfall!" part still grates me.
The Rihanna song is appalling. It's not even her singing that I mind so much, it's the awful synths and electronic beats which are used. And the use of male backing vocals are cringeworthy. Please, make it stop!
The James Blake song is marginally better. It's got a pretty cool beat, but his voice is grating. Particularly when he goes into falsetto in the chorus screeching "Up in flaaaaaaaaames!"... I honestly don't get what all the hype is about. Why does Pitchfork have a hard-on for this guy again?
Thankfully, it's not all bad news. I was delighted to hear the new single from U2 - FINALLY! The Edge is on top form with his guitar work and Bono's voice is in surprisingly good shape. Sure, it's not a match for the early years of U2, but it's better than nearly everything on No Line on the Horizon. If "Don't Let It Break Your Heart" is any indication, then colour me excited for LP13!
I don't usually bother with compilation albums so I'm not sure why I listened to this one. As one could expect from compilations, the quality is hit-and-miss. There are some awful songs from awful artists but the better songs I'll probably find myself going back to. Especially The Postal Service song and the new U2 track. 6/10."

Oh yes I have read that one (not sure whether by accident or was directed to it) and I tittered.

I've never understood why so many people love this band, they make me want to projectile vomit all over the place. Then again I never understood the obsession with U2 so I guess there's just something I'm missing with certain bands. But I'm glad Chris Martin has finally admitted they are pretty much horrible.

I just wanna say that U2's "The Unforgettable Fire" is actually a legitimately great album, and a runner-up for my top 100. Coldplay's "A Rush of Blood to the Head" is also very good.
That being said, neither band really has any other albums worth listening to. _________________ A dick that's bigger than the sun.

Meh, Parachutes and War are alright...
Actually, I have this weird new theory about Coldplay albums - the further they get from Rush of Blood to the Head, the worse they get. It's like that album is a liquid core emanating talent, and each other album is another layer over this core, each layer getting a significantly reduced concentration of "good".
Let's test this...
Parachutes: alright (1st layer)
Rush of Blood the Head: excellent (core)
X & Y: alright (1st layer)
Viva La Vida: meh... (2nd layer)
Mylo Xyloto: OH GOD MAKE IT STOP! MY EEEEEARS! (3rd layer) _________________ A dick that's bigger than the sun.
