KRS is probably still my favorite but I think DFA, Matador, Plug Research, Alpha Pup, Drag City, Warp, and One Little Indian all deserve a mention

Favorite Gentlemen is probably my favorite. And I don't know if it even counts as independent anymore but I randomly noticed one day how many of my favorite albums are subpop. Iron and Wine and The Shins alone make it a juggernaut in my book.

4AD, FacRec (always loved that shortening of their name) and Sub Pop.
If I had to choose one, 4AD for Pixies alone, and that's without mentioning their other great artists.
