Have you guys already done other genres or are you specifically picking from the mediocre ones first? :/ |
*moans about mediocre genres taking precedent*
*picks the two most mediocre genres here as his favourites*
EDIT: By the way, I don't think any of these genres are mediocre, I was just reacting to an unnecessarily dismissive comment. I'd love to see any of these genres picked. Voted for drum'n'bass though. _________________ 2021 in full effect. Come drop me some recs. Y'all know what I like.

Really dismissing the voted upon as mediocre is not a good way to start a favorable discussion, yeah?

Btw, I would like to thank everyone for participating! As cliche as this sounds, this project needed everyone who has participated from the voters to the creators so thx to all!

Pretty sure when this was starting I offered to take late 70s post punk so I guess I could still throw my hat in the ring there ... additionally whenever Punk is a genre that comes out, expect a long-ass post on my end for Gilman punk, everyone forgets that there were bands other than Green Day and a few others that came out of there that had a HUGE influence on how modern punk came to be (admittedly some were just Ramones rip off bands, and yet). _________________

I'd be willing to help with a variety of punk movements I'm familiar with and decently read up on.

Among the top 10 things not to say on a forum full of music buffs.
Anyway, I'm very much in favor of sticking to subgenres or genres that are narrow in scope. So far, the threads have tended to focus on picking out the highlights of the genre/subgenre and I think this would get unwieldy if we tried to do something like post-punk or house/techno. For those more interested in the detailed historical development, you're probably better off with a documentary or a history text (also, hopefully I'll return to my history thread at some point in the future when I have more time).
