I'm with you, I like the idea!
I think it'd be better to do once a year, but anyway, let's see..
Oh and thanks for considering me as an "essential" user.. wow!

Just wondering, why do we want to induct more artists than albums? This site is about the albums, not the artists.
Here's a plan. Four albums, 2x per year, five artists (plus one) 1x per year. An artist can only have one album inducted per year (otherwise we'd have three Radiohead, three Beatles, and two Dylan albums the first year).

I wouldn't want to throw those results out and would have them in their respective years, asterisks next to them for "pre-Hall AMA days".
Also I agree with you there, having looked at what that would entail based on the "future rock hall" website. My leaning at this point, if twice a year, would be to have 3 artists, 2 albums inducted each ballot, with the additional "non-performer" category either in with AMAs or in the separate election. I for one am in full support of this idea. It'll be nice to see BEA's take on something that is just a total disaster at this point in the real world.

Maybe the next BEAM should be a U2 album, then, amirite?

Shall we take over Rolling Stone, then?
I am all in for the idea. _________________ Finnegan was super bad-ass.

I don't think that I like this much, something feels like we'll just see the same ol' artists getting picked

I think it's the debates that could b raised over precedence that might make it interesting & worthwhile. Who deserves to go in first & why sort of thing. (e.g. Chuck Berry vs. Elvis. Who's the real king of rock n' roll? )

I think he's saying that these we'd only be seeing artists like the Beach Boys, Nick Drake, the Smiths, and other generic forum favorites.
It might lead to more interesting conversations if there were guidelines of some sort (like by decade, genre, etc.), rather than just voting on who's the overall "best". I'm not sure the best way to go about that, though, and it may make things too complicated.
