As for Atlantic and Geffen - I had them on my original 'don't pick' list, so am happy to put them back on. Elektra and Arista were on there too, but I felt that the list was getting too broad. There are some examples of major subsidiaries (i.e. Def Jam) which are clearly a 'label' in the truest sense, so to exclude all majors (Stax too, for that matter) would be ridiculous, hence not calling it 'best independent' label tournament. So there. _________________ 'Reggae' & t'ing

If an independent label was purchased by a major label, can we use them, perhaps under the restriction of releases prior to this changing of hands?
The label I had in mind was Blue Note.

If you could put back Atlantic, I'd like that. Thanks.

I have a question. Fleet Foxes is both a Bella Union and Sub Pop album, and Atlantic and Charisma both first released Invisible Touch, so how will that work in terms of labels and release dates?
