A man after my own heart... was toying with grabbing that for myself.

As for Atlantic and Geffen - I had them on my original 'don't pick' list, so am happy to put them back on. Elektra and Arista were on there too, but I felt that the list was getting too broad. There are some examples of major subsidiaries (i.e. Def Jam) which are clearly a 'label' in the truest sense, so to exclude all majors (Stax too, for that matter) would be ridiculous, hence not calling it 'best independent' label tournament. So there.

If an independent label was purchased by a major label, can we use them, perhaps under the restriction of releases prior to this changing of hands?

The label I had in mind was Blue Note.

If you could put back Atlantic, I'd like that. Thanks.

Almost went with Creation though... hope someone else picks it. This could be an interesting tournament.

I have a question. Fleet Foxes is both a Bella Union and Sub Pop album, and Atlantic and Charisma both first released Invisible Touch, so how will that work in terms of labels and release dates?
