Anything from George Carlin is phenomenal. I think he's the greatest of all time. Smarter, quicker, sharper, more well structured, more relateble and agreeable than almost any other comic I've encountered.

My favorite CD release from him is probably Jammin' In New York.

I actually wondered if your avatar was Carlin? Looks like a younger pic, but too small to be for sure.

Tis indeed George Carlin. And yep, probably from the mid to late 70's. I suppose I'm still young enough to have "heroes" and he's one of them.

Rad. Good hero to have.

Don't Crush That Dwarf, Hand Me The Pli...gn Theatre

Firesign Theatre was one of those acts like Monty Python and National Lampoon that a lot of people had in their vinyl collections when I was a little kid. And from the little that I heard of them they seem to be very funny. I need to check them out more. I just remember little bits and pieces that i heard. And I remember many of the album covers of Firesign theater and National Lampoon albums.

I'm presuming that comedy bands count as well?
Seems like we missed these guys:

Flight of the Conchords by Flight of the Conchords

I've never heard any parody group on remotely the same level as this. So good. Probably best to watch the tv series, but works really well on record as well.

This is the greatest father and son song I've ever heard!

This is the funniest thing I know in English. Even better than the Pythons. - "A lot of weather we’ve been having lately".

The Golden Age Of Hollywood Comedy by L...amp; Hardy

Noch besser nur das hier:

Live Im Audimax by Otto Waalkes

Jammy Smears by Ivor Cutler

This album is actually doing better on BEA than I expected-sneaking into the top 20,000! More than a comedy album: it's a mix of funny little parlour songs, stories and poems. It's really hilarious and has a brilliant perspective.
