Skrillex's music is the most disgusting thing I've ever heard,it's electronic music at it's most water down and contrived. But if anyone can make it work it's Kanye,I'm not damning the track before I hear it,but Kanye should know better in my opinion.

I'm not the biggest Skrillex fan in the world, but how is that even remotely true?

You're referring to his later music + MMM, right?

I'm joking, I hate Skrillex. I'm hardly a fan of Metal Machine Music, but I'd take that anyday over anything by Skrillex. It saddens me that he is who most people think of when the hear the term 'dubstep'. Dubstep was the last great UK underground genre but - like grime before it - it has been chewed up and spat out into some watered down, one-dimensional tripe made for kids who have no understanding of what it even meant to people like me when we first heard it. I know this probably sounds snobbish, but fuck it. I used to sneak into basement clubs with my fake ID just so I could hear Kode9 and Mala dubplates on a fat system. The forays into old school rave hybrids were interesting and new, and gave us our own identity as 15, 16 and 17 year-olds. Hearing the Bristol purple scene, with their claustrophobic, almost cartoon-ish synths was exhilarating. People were mixing minimal 2-step with otherworldly sub-bass, then mixing into that forgotten house and garage tunes that our friends' older brothers and sisters had told us about. You recognised faces of the people that were at all the other nights and everyone was there waiting to hear whatever new bangers we hadn't yet heard, taking mental notes whilst dancing like imbeciles - and that was just in Birmingham, hardly the sort of hotspot London or Bristol was.
Now Skrillex just uses his default wub scream over everything, there's nothing interesting about it, and I actively avoid any club night claiming to play dubstep. And young kids are coming up re-producing that sound (but often even worse, somehow) because it's popular and it gets the masses dancing. There's no fucking knowledge of the history or love for the music. It's a fucking travesty.

I might have went a bit far with the whole watered down thing, but when it comes to making music that is emotive and captivating I feel Skrillex falls short, his music lacks soul.It is designed to be consumed by the masses and relies on the same formula for every song(from what I've heard). It's the most generic rubbish I've ever consumed.Don't get me wrong the whole "filth" or "brostep" is alright rarely from time to time, but the likes of Rusko is a million miles ahead of Skrillex, you can hear emotion in his music.Maybe it's just me,but the whole point of music in my opinion is to put across emotions and feelings and in the music of Skrillex I cannot find any.
