Been going through Opal Tapes' releases, they're a really cool cassette label(though everything they release is up on bandcamp too I think). They specialize in the quirkier, atmospheric, lo fi, and more forward thinking side, of techno, ambient, and house.
Some great releases that y'all should check from them
Lumigraph - Nautically Inclined
Wanda Group - Piss Fell Out Like Sunlight
Various Artists/Opal Tapes - Cold Holiday
Ex-Con - Manual de força i tàctica

Sometimes when I procrastinate I have a look at the record labels my fav artists are signed too. I'm not sure it's a common thing to do though.

Sun Records, Apple Records, Mute, 4AD, Creation, V2, Jagjagwar,... Some labels tend to point the listener towards good stuff.
